A boob job, medically termed as breast augmentation, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of breasts. At Allure Plastic Surgery clinic, it is usually performed to enlarge small breasts or restore breast volume after weight loss or pregnancy. Breast augmentation surgery can also correct asymmetry in breast size.

Breast augmentation surgery is typically performed using general anesthesia. An incision is made in the crease below the breast, and the implant is placed either behind the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle.

What your Boobs Will Look like after a Boob job and 10 Things you Should Know about this Treatment

The final appearance of your breasts following breast augmentation surgery will depend on a number of factors, including the size and shape of the implants, the surgical technique used, and your natural body type. Most women report that their breasts look fuller and more voluptuous following surgery. Here are ten things you should know about the final results of a boob job:

• Your breasts may not look exactly like the breasts of the woman in the before and after photos, you see online or in advertisements

Even though breast augmentation is a very common surgical procedure, each woman’s body is unique and will respond differently to surgery. The final results of your breast augmentation will depend on your own body type and the size and shape of the implants you choose.

• Your breasts may be uneven after surgery

Asymmetry in breast size is quite common, and it is not always possible to correct it surgically. If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, be sure to discuss your concerns with your surgeon before surgery. Not to forget, breasts tend to change shape and size over time, so they may not stay perfectly symmetrical forever.

• You may experience numbness or tingling in your breasts after surgery

There are a few side effects your plastic surgeon will want you to be aware of before your surgery. Some women experience numbness or tingling in their breasts after surgery, but this usually resolves within a few weeks or months.

• Not Every Plastic Surgeon is qualified to perform a Boob Job

It is important to do your research and find a qualified plastic surgeon that has extensive experience performing boob job in Singapore. Importantly, you should insist on working with only a board-certified plastic surgeon at an accredited clinic.

• Breast Implants are not Lifetime Devices

The lifespan of a breast implant varies from woman to woman, but most implants will last 10-20 years. If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, you may choose to have your implants replaced at some point in the future.

• There is a Risk of Infection Following Surgery

There is always a risk of infection following surgery, so it is important to carefully follow your surgeon’s postoperative instructions. Be sure to keep all appointments for follow-up care and report any signs of infection to your surgeon immediately.

• You May Experience Swelling and Discomfort Following Surgery

Swelling and discomfort are common following breast augmentation surgery, but they should subside within a few weeks. Taking over-the-counter pain medication can help relieve discomfort.

• Recovery Time varies from Person to Person

Everyone heals differently, so the amount of time it takes for you to recover from surgery may vary. Most women take approximately two weeks to fully recover, but it may take longer for some people. Be sure to follow your surgeon’s postoperative instructions carefully.

• There is a Risk of Breastfeeding Difficulties after Surgery

There is a small risk that you will experience difficulties breastfeeding after surgery. This is because breast implants can interfere with the milk ducts and impede the flow of milk. If you are planning to breastfeed after surgery, be sure to discuss this with your surgeon beforehand.

• You May Require Additional Surgery in the Future

Even though breast augmentation is a relatively safe procedure, there is always a small risk that additional surgery may be required in the future. If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, you may choose to have additional surgery at some point in the future.

• Breast Implants are not a One-Size-Fits-all Solution

Not everyone is a candidate for breast augmentation surgery. You may not be a good candidate if you have very thin skin or severe ptosis (sagging breasts). Be sure to discuss your eligibility for surgery with your surgeon before making a decision.

• The cost of Breast Augmentation Varies from Surgeon to Surgeon

The cost of breast augmentation surgery can vary significantly, so it is important to do your research and compare prices before making a decision. Most surgeons will offer financing options, so be sure to ask about this before scheduling your surgery.

• Insurance Usually does not Cover the Cost of Breast Augmentation Surgery

Insurance usually does not cover the cost of getting boob job in Singapore, so you will likely have to pay for the entire procedure out-of-pocket. This can be a significant expense, so be sure to budget accordingly.
